Photo Friday - A Snapshot of Life These Days
This is what my kitchen table looks like during the day. Actually this is pretty good because there is usually more. Being a homeschool family, our kitchen table is where we live a lot of life. It is very rare to find the table empty or not full of books and other items.
So here is snapshot into my life:
1. My coffee maker - I think this needs no explanation.
2. My fireplace heater from my mother - again, no explanation needed.
3. My computer - as a lover of words, my computer is out most of the time. My computer is normally surrounded by my journal and devotional books but I have to put them away to make room for school. They sit is a bag which you cannot see in this picture.
4. My water bottle - because if it not in front of me or easy to drink from I will go the entire day without drinking water.
5. School work - I am either helping a child do school or checking a child's completed school. This is what I do.
6. Books - we are constantly ordering new books or reading a book we already have. One book is one we just ordered from Dave Ramsey. The other one is the book that my play is based on, In His Steps by Charles Sheldon.
7. Papers - yep - they are all over the place. We have a really good printer so people are constantly printing things. These papers are the character list for the new play I am working on.
8. A spoon - random objects are found daily - this was probably left over from me stirring my coffee this morning.
9. Artwork - if you look real closely you will see a canvas that Tirzah painted for me. We have art supplies at the ready at our house. A child is constantly working on a masterpiece.
This is my life - and I love it.
Is it tough somedays? Yes, yes it is. But I wouldn't trade it. This table was lovingly finished by my parents. It is big and sturdy.
This is where we open our Bibles and read.
This is where we pray.
This is where I teach my children.
This is where we have hard conversations about sin and temptations and living a godly life in a fallen world.
This is where we play games and tell stories and joke and laugh.
This is my life - and I love it.
From my spot at this table I can see children reading and playing and talking and cooking and living life.
From this spot I am preparing arrows to go out and shake the world for God's glory.
To me this spot is almost sacred for this is where I meet with God each morning. It is where I put my armor on to face the day.
This picture is my life - and I love it.
