Full of Faith and of the Holy Spirit

Stephen
The first thing I think of when I hear his name is martyr.

Faith, grace, power, and being full of the Holy Spirit.
That is how the author of Acts describes him.

I want to be identified with these things. I want this to be my identity.
When I think of Stephen I am amazed at his boldness and the power he was living in. He plugged into the power of the Holy Spirit. He had learned how to fully access the power of the Holy Spirit in his life.
Oh how I wish that I could lean how to do this.

I want to walk in the power of the Holy Spirt that already lives inside me.
I know that He lives in me.
It is a promise.
A fact.
Something I can bank on.
I can stand firm in it.

Walking in the power of the Holy Spirit in my everyday life is a different story. Putting the power into practice is difficult.
How do I in the day to day living access and walk in the power of the Helper Jesus promised us and sent us?

This is a question for the ages.
As I walk my path with Jesus I have 8 children watching my every move. They ask me how to live a victorious Christian life. I wish I had an answer for them.
But, it is different for each person who walks with Jesus.
My path is different than each of my children's.
Different circumstances.
Different trials.
Different lessons to learn.
Each day unique to the child of God.
And yet, the question remains.

How do we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit?

We need to pray and read the Word of God.
We need to spend time learning about God and just being in His presence.
We need to worship Him and praise Him for who He is and what He has done.
We need to thank Him for all His many blessings to us.
We need to talk to and fellowship with the people He has sent to help us on our path.
We need to sit under the teaching of wise men and women who will call us to walk with Jesus.

We need to do this every day. When we fail we need to repent and do these things all over again. We need to remove all those things that try to steal our time away from the Lord. We need to be still and be with Jesus more. Easier said than done, right? We just need to take each day at a time and never stop learning about and trusting in and spending time with Jesus.

If we do all these things we will learn how to live a life that honors Him and truly walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
He has promised to teach us all things.
We have to believe this promise and claim it and walk in it.
If we do this then people may say of us that we are full of faith and of the Holy Spirit.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John 14:26
