A Miracle Unfolding

The theater ministry, Spiritual Twist Productions, that we are involved in puts on a fundraiser production every year. The TTA’s or teacher training assistants are the ones who perform. It is the best that Spiritual Twist has to offer. These teenagers are the cream of the crop. They are one of the most talented and dedicated group of young people that I have ever seen. These kids love the Lord and love bringing glory to His name.

When I was given the chance to perform with these kids I prayed about it and really felt the Lord telling me to take the opportunity. Performing theater is one of my favorite things in the world. When I get to do it all for the glory of God it makes it so much better. William is performing too so the fact that I get to do this with one of children is such a blessing.

The play is actually a premier. The founder and executive director, Natalie Snapp, feels led by the Lord to write plays that bring glory to God and has been doing it for 30 years. This play is special though. It took her five years to write. The main character is the Holy Spirit. She wanted to write it several years ago but the Holy Spirit led her to wait. The play is now completed and it is truly amazing. The hand of God is on this play. No one involved can deny it. It is an incredible privilege to be involved.

Since the beginning of the play the entire cast was encouraged to be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives. To truly get to know Him intimately. The director asked us to read the book by Francis Chan, Forgotten God. We also asked to read the book of Acts. You all know how that has been going because I have written several blog posts about my journey through the book of Acts. The Lord keeps leading me to stop and write my thoughts down. I am trying to read it through the second time since September but it is going slowly. I am thoroughly enjoying it though and learning more than I ever thought I would.

The Lord led me to a small book by one of my favorite authors, Catherine Marshall. I was at the library and just picked up the book because I saw her name. When I opened it up I discovered that it was a book that she had written all about the Holy Spirit. She wrote it because she and her first husband, Peter Marshall, felt that people misunderstood the third person of the Trinity. It has been a very enlightening and enjoyable book. It is called The Helper.

Each rehearsal we have been asked to truly worship on stage and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us and in us. It has been a mighty thing to witness. There is something amazing going on in this ministry. All of us in leadership and most of the volunteers have said so. This year we absolutely feel that God is working and it will be an amazing year. I have learned so much already from being involved this year. The Lord is present in the building where we meet. You can literally feel Him moving. There is truly something miraculous going on this year.

I cannot wait to see what the Lord is going to do this year at Spiritual Twist Productions. I have never seen an organization like this ever. They are training a whole generation to boldly preach the name of Jesus Christ. They are encouraged to use the talents and gifts that Jesus has given them to be used for His glory. It is a wonderful thing to see when you walk in the building. Kids are praying for one another. Families are serving together. People are giving their time and money. Lives are being changed and people are coming to know who Jesus is and what the body of Christ truly looks like.

My prayer is that all of my local friends would be able to come and see the new production, Empowered. It is like nothing you have ever seen or will ever see again. An added bonus is that you get to see my son, William, and I perform or should I say worship on stage. The production opens next Thursday, October 26, 2017. We have shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30.  We also have a matinee on Saturday afternoon at 2. Tickets are available at tickets.spiritualtwist.com. Transparent Tuesdays - A New Season of LIfe

The Sandwich Generation I always heard this phrase growing up but never truly understood it until the last few years. I have 6 children living at home that I am still providing for. But I also have a mother and father who are dealing with major health issues and need my help more and more. I am helping them walk through the loss of siblings. Helping them navigate caretakers and doctors' appointments and repairing cars and house improvements. And yet still trying to launch my own children into their own lives. I never thought in a week that I would be helping children do school, helping plan two weddings, and still have to help my mom deal with some tough decisions about my dad's care. It can be a huge weight on my mind, if I let it. It can also be a wonderful blessing.  I have watched two of my children meet and get engaged to two of the loveliest young ladies. Making Jesus Famous

I wrote this yesterday after our church service. January 7, 2018 There was an article this week on the news website that I check every day. The name of the article was “Are we paying the price for failing to honor and teach morals?” It was a very interesting article about the consequences in our nation due to the lack of morals that are being taught in our country. The author basically stated that parents, the church, the education system, and culture itself have failed to teach this generation basic morals and values. The author’s conclusion was as follows, “ This is how amoral societies work. They tear down restrictions in the name of freedom; they later find those discarded structures protected innocent victims and society generally from the evil committed by morally ungoverned souls.
