Quick Update
I am so sorry about not posting in a while. We are deep in the process of packing up our 2200 sq. ft. house and moving what we absolutely need into our new 308 sq. ft. We have moved all the clothes and necessary items into the camper already. In fact, we are all sleeping in it at this very moment and have been for several nights. Our neighbors must wonder what those crazy Trautman's are up to now.
Currently, we have a 36 ft. camper in our driveway. We also have a utility trailer that we borrowed from some wonderful friends to transfer things to the dump, storage unit, or the be donated. We also have my in laws Suburban parked out front. They very graciously drove down from Maryland to help out for a few days. They are going to watch the kids and cook food for the next couple days while Carl and I finish the final push of moving.
As of right now, we plan to be completely moved out by the weekend. The final walk through for the new owners is scheduled for January 6 and we close on the 7th. Reality is finally setting in that this new adventure is about to begin. When I think where we were this time last year, I am amazed at how far Carl and I have grown in the Lord. He continues to guide us and despite some setbacks emotionally and spiritually we are back on track and ready to see what the Lord has in store for us. This week we were both really convicted during the Sunday teaching time at church. We realized that we had lost focus of why we are doing this. We were trying to turn this time into a vacation instead of a relationship building time. Carl and I went out to Chili's on Sunday night and spent 3 hours talking and planning. We finally came up with a family mission statement. We should have done this years ago. We plan on posting this in the camper and reading it every day. It is exciting that we made some goals and the Lord is moving in mighty ways to get us where he can use us even more and bring glory to name. I will have to post the mission statement when I finish the final copy.
It has been an exciting time but also a trying time. It is very stressful to move but when you are moving from a big house to a teeny tiny trailer it is just that much more stressful. We also have had some new developments to the timing of our trip, as in how long we are going to be on the road. Carl found out a while ago that his unit is up for deployment in early 2016. Those plans are coming to be final and unless the Lord changes some things with Carl's army career he will be on orders in November 2015 right in time for Thanksgiving. This has caused us to rethink some things and we are preparing to come back to the Raleigh area some time in the late summer to get the kids and myself established in a rental home. This deployment has not caused me one moment if worry. It is a supernatural peace that I have been given from the Lord. I know that Carl is safer overseas in the Lord's will than in America and out of his will. We have been putting more than we planned in storage so that we can be prepared for the return to house living.
Be praying for us in the next week that we would get everything done and that the closing would go smooth. We are excited for what the Lord has next for us and I am sure that all of you readers cannot wait to see where we go first. We are praising the Lord in all of this and know that this journey to joy will be one that we will never forget. We are learning so much already and desire to learn more and more each and every day.
