North Carolina!!!!!
We are back in North Carolina.
Yesterday, when we pulled out of the campgrounds to go to Williamsburg we noticed that the tongue jack had slipped a little. When we had pulled in last Friday we were met with snow and lots of ice. I guess as the snow and ice melted it shifted the tongue jack slightly. The camper had also become unleveled because of the snow melting. We were not too concerned as the leveling jacks were in place but we were not comfortable leaving the camper the way it was. We decided to hitch the camper up and fix the problem. While we had everything hooked up we decided that we did not feel like unhitching only to hitch up again in the morning. We decided to pack up and leave a day early instead of leaving Wednesday morning.
The kids were okay with as we told them that we were still going to Williamsburg again. But before that we went to...IHOP for FREE PANCAKES. Anyone else go? We got 30 pancakes for free and the kids loved it. We also got some eggs and bacon and donated to the Children's Miracle Network.
At Williamsburg we went to the jail and the Capital building. The kids had fun playing in the big field outside the capital while I went on the tour with the older ones. Caleb finally got to go to the Coffee Shop. We then rode the bus to go to the museums. Again, the kids had a blast. We could not spend a lot of time there as Carl has his Tuesday Army Conference call. I got dinner for the kids at Burger King while Carl was on his phone call.
We got on the road soon after the call ended and stopped by near Petersburg to pick up the car. The kids got to see Ivan and Jonah who were staying at Bob and Skeeter's house. We got on the road and we arrived at my mom's house about 11:30. The kids went right to bed and I TOOK A SHOWER. I could move around, there was heat, and I could keep all my shower things right in the shower with me. It seems like campground shower expect you to have looooooong arms to reach your shampoo and things. There is never any place to put your stuff. I fell right to sleep in a bed that did not move or squeak. The water and toilet did not make a huge noise like in the camper.
We are now enjoying a great weather day here at my mom's house. Laundry has been done and the camper is at Falls Lake for the next few days. We are even going to get to go to Bible Study tonight. I am so excited. I will try to post more tomorrow as we are getting ready to leave for Bible Study. We a lot of things to do while we are in town. Doctor's appointments and army duty (well, for Carl anyway.) We also need to take the camper in for service (slide out - AGAIN). Does anyone know if there is a lemon law for RV's? We are actually going to be taking it to another service center to get a second opinion. Please pray we get this issue fixed for good.
