P Day Has Come and Gone

My, it has been a whirlwind the past few weeks. The photographer was supposed to come Monday October 6th. We knew we would not be ready so we pushed every thing back a week. We knew it would be tough. We still had the entire house to paint and stage. I prayed hard that we would be able to get it all done. Sunday I did not think it was possible. I had the upstairs mostly done but the downstairs looked like a bomb had exploded. Not one room was ready for me to stage. Paint supplies were everywhere to the point that we could not move. It was a mess. I was very discouraged. Sunday night we did not even have the front garden planted and the driveway had a big pile of mulch in it. My wonderful husband planted the garden by a light we plugged in. He also pulled an all nighter and painted the entire downstairs. He graciously allowed me to sleep a few hours. I woke up at 7:00 and began to stage what I could. He still had not painted any of the trim. The realtor came about 9:30 and I was flustered. Not one room downstairs was ready. He said that the photographer could work around us and do the upstairs first. By the time the photographer had taken pictures of the outside and the upstairs we had finished the downstairs. I believe that some of the paint was still wet but the pictures turned out great!!! What an answer to prayer.
I want to thank all those who prayed for us while we were working on the house. The Irish girls came and helped out Saturday with Sarah even sewing curtains. Chris Coutu also came to help paint. And Wilson came and helped out several days, painting shutters and pressure washing part of the house. So many people helped. The Coutu's rescued us Sunday night by coming and picking up the three little boys and took them to their house for a few hours. They even drove them home. What a blessing. We still have work to do but it is just little things.
My prayers have shifted now to praying for the family that God would have buy our house. I have been praying for the house to sell but my prayers have become very specific to now praying for the exact family. I pray that the family that buys the house would get as much blessing from the house that we have. I pray for God's perfect timing in all of this. That God would allow Carl and I to be patient and to continue to grow. I pray that God would allow this process to go fast but we know that God is ultimately in control and his timing is perfect.
Our focus has really shifted now to planning the next phase of this adventure. We have started planning trips and where we want to go. We have started talking about logistics.  We have pinned down what school subjects we will be doing formally and which ones we are going to do by traveling and experiencing first hand. It is exciting. We have even planned our second trip. Our first trip was a nice 4 day trip to Falls Lake to spend time with Carl's parents. It was great weather and we had a great time. The kids went kayaking and canoeing. They spent a lot of time at the beach either swimming or playing in the sand.
This coming week we are going to Stone Mountain State Park. It is the peak season of the fall colors and I am so looking forward to it. This will be the first trip that we are incorporating formal schooling. I am trusting the Lord that this will be a learning experience and really good for the kids and for Carl and I. This is really a test trip as we will be in the pop up. I am looking forward to it but also anxious. It draws me closer to the Lord because this is really stepping out in faith for all of us.
I am amazed at the amount of people who have told us that this adventure is encouraging to them. So many people have told us that they either have thought about doing something like this themselves or they think it is a wonderful idea. I am excited that we will be able to touch so many lives. Please pray for us as the house is on the market and we are now in a waiting stage. We are planning trips while the house is on the market but are trying to wait until we have a contract on the house before we buy our full time trailer. Pray for the transition for the kids and for school to go well. I am excited to see where the Lord is going to take us this year. Pray that the Lord would be the guiding force on this adventure and that we would respond to the Lord prompting in touching lives across the country. Also pray that we would be building relationships and memories with the kids and between Carl and I. Most of all pray that our relationship with the Lord would grow by leaps and bounds this year and always.
